About Us and The Organizer

Twitch BannerOne day, my wife and I were driving around and chatting about the sad life situations of several gamer friends of ours.  As we were racking our brains for some way to help them out, my wife nonchalantly says “Why not raise money for them or something.”  It was just an idea.  One of several we were throwing around that day, but the more I thought about it the more I liked it.  Why shouldn’t we gamers be responsible for our own?  Not only that, but why not go bigger?!  Why not use our favorite hobby to help people EVERYWHERE?!  It was from that simple idea that we decided to form RPGs for Charities.  While we thought this would be a small time operation, everyone we’ve spoken to have asked “How can I help?!” and “No, seriously, I can handle more than that.”  The outpouring of volunteers have emboldened us to not just reach for what’s easy, but to reach for the impossible!  That is the spirit that RPGs for Charities wants to foster in our volunteers, in those we help, and the whole world.  All those people that told you that games won’t save the world…THEY WERE WRONG!

My name is Christopher Bellamy and I’ve been a gamer for effectively my Chris Bellamyentire adult life.  Gaming has brought me some of my best memories, taught me some of my best life skills and introduced me to some of the best people in the world.  I’m constantly trying to find new ways to make a difference and change the world.  This time, I’m trying to do it with my favorite hobby.  I would love for this event to succeed, but more than that I hope this inspires people the world over to reach out and use your talents and passions to do good in the world.
